User Experience Consultant

This position requires a person to wear multiple hats and be part of a multi-disciplinary team. The individual will have opportunities to derive user experience requirements, ideas and organizational change. You will be partnering with high-performance individuals and working on multiple projects. You will learn the ability to do multiple things and be good at sharing, delegation and collaboration with various groups. You should be able to operate in a fast paced startup organization (Agile & Lean) and be equally good at learning how to maneuver large and bureaucratic ones. You should be able to conceptualize solutions, help teams execute and be able to articulate ideas as a thought leader. You should be driven to solve problems.


  • Design Thinking — Problem solver, divergent/convergent design thinker, able to fathom lack-of-clear-directions
  • User Research — Customer/User interviews, surveys, design sessions, workshops & secondary research
  • Conceptual Strengths — Mapping user journey, developing personas, crafting usage scenarios to develop design solutions
  • Information Architecture — Content Model, Navigation, Flows
  • Visual Communication — visual & graphic design principles, patterns, guidelines, UI
  • Attitude — Working in an Agile Development Environment
  • Knowledge of modern UX standards
  • Familiarity with of Lean Startup, Agile/Scrum Development, Lean UX philosophies

  • Digital craftsmanship, client presentations and design documentation
  • Hand drawing/sketching, White-boarding, Conversational Skills
  • Adobe Creative Suites — InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator
  • SketchApp, Keynote/PowerPoint, Excel/Numbers
  • Rapid Prototyping tools — InVision, UX Pin, Axure, et al.


  • HTML, CSS knowledge
  • Commercial and US Government Experience

  • Undergraduate degree inLiberal Arts, Science, Engineering or related
